But the book is free, you can read it on your computer or kindle if you have one I wanted to try this cookbook in order to introduce heathy meal options into my diet I am not a vegan or a vegetarian, but I don t have a meat heavy diet so I though that these recipes might inspire me to try a few new and delicious recipes.
At a glance the cookbook has a diverse mixture of recipes from around the world, including largely Hispanic and Italian dishes with some exotic recipes such as curries and borscht It s pretty well organized by the table of contents into main dishes and desserts Also every recipes has a nice picture to go along with it I m a very visual person so I think that this is a nice touch.
The recipes themselves are written in a simple and clear fashion The directions were easy enough for me to follow I also liked the introduction which This is one seriously odd vegan cookbook I guess the way to make vegan food better is to use copious amounts of cheese I have no idea if the author mean for you to understand that you should always use vegan cheese, but in some cases she does specify to use that and in some cases not, so I m left wondering if she understands that Parmesan and mozzarella are absolutely not vegan.
The cover of this book is terrific which makes you think you re going to get something that s done well In fact, the layout is just terrible at least on Kindle for ipad and the photos are small and unappetizing very unlike the wonderful cover photo Some of the photos are so bad you won t even want to try the food You eat with your eyes first, cookbook authors If you can t provide an appetizing photo, perhaps don t include one The whole thing feels slapped together without the least bit of though put into i This cookbook has some good things going for it there is a VERY nice variety of recipes, so you can really vary your menus If you find you ve become stuck in a rut, this would be a good cookbook to check out you don t have to be vegan to appreciate it one of the nice things about vegan recipes is that ANYONE even omnivores cam enjoy them.
That said, there are a couple snags.
One and this is really a little one , the author isn t consistent about noting the use of dairy substitutes I would think that, for most vegans, this would be second nature But I mention it because I think it shows a possible lack of attention to detailWhich, in turn, I DO see a lack of attention in the formatting This is my other and much bigger complaint The formatting is quite bad Lines wrap in a way that doesn t make sense isn t necessary , and then brea I did not finish reading this free e book.
