Certainly one of the top 3 of the many cycling books I have read and perhaps the best of all An incredible journey masterfully recounted both Juliana s on the road journey as well as her life journey She describes the hazards of the road, the weather extremes, the breakdowns, the challenges that all long distance cyclists can relate with And she also captures the charm and allure of the countries and cultures she traverses along with the varied personalities she runs into and the kindnesses she receives And Buhring reflects on the insights for and from life that she has gathers as she pedals An altogether unusual, inspiring, entertaining and insightful read.
Juliana s average 200km per day for 144 days road trip and experiences on the road represent the pinnacle of human endurance and determination Not only to undertake this monumental journey, but to retain a constant focus on the targeta Guinness world record.
and the daily distances needed to achieve that is so impressive Her bravery too in putting herself miles from civilisation on occasions Australian outback is remarkableI also recently saw her Trans Am race documentary on the Bike Channel which was seriously impressiveI only got to know about Juliana in the past month but will certainly be a fan for life
