Trailer Ì Sevens Heaven: The Beautiful Chaos of Fiji’s Olympic Dream (Hörbuch-Download): Ben Ryan, Ben Ryan, Orion: Audible Audiobooks PDF by â Ben Ryan A real behind the scenes story of a wonderful story that not only helped the individuals on the pitch but a whole country.
I loved the honesty that flowed throughout this whole book A rarity in most sporting books I have already recommended this to all my rugby loving friends and also people who love a rag to riches tale.
This is not only a great sports story, although it certainly ranks at the top just on this basis Fiji is not a destination most of us will ever visit but we almost don t need to as Ben Ryan s book gives us a vivid insight into the good and bad elements of the Pacific island nation The human interest is paramount as the reader has to root for the underdogs as they head for the most amazing triumph Impossible not to feel energised after reading this.
This Is The Story Of How One Man Changed A Nation, How That Nation Changed The Man And How Together They Made Sporting History It Is Late Summer 2013 Ben Ryan, A Red Haired, 40 Something, Spectacle Wearing Englishman, Is Given 20 Minutes To Decide Whether He Wants To Coach Fiji S Rugby Sevens Team, With The Aim Of Taking Them To The Nation S First Ever Olympic Medal He Has Never Been To Fiji There Has Been No Discussion Of Contracts Or Salary But He Knows That No One Plays Rugby Like The Men From These Isolated Pacific Islands, Just As No One Plays Football Like The Kids From The Brazilian Favelas, Or No One Runs As Fast As The Boys And Girls From Jamaica S Boondocks He Knows, Too, That No Other Rugby Nation Has So Little No Money And No Resources, Only Basic Equipment And A Long, Sad History Of Losing Its Most Gifted Players To Richer, Greedier Nations Ryan Says Yes And With That Simple Word He Sets In Motion An Extraordinary Journey That Will Encompass Witch Doctors And Rugby Obsessed Prime Ministers, Sun Smeared Dawns And Devastating Cyclones, Intense Friendships And Bitter Rows, Phone Taps And Wild Nationwide Parties It Will End In Rio With A Performance That Not Only Wins Olympic Gold But Touches Fresh Heights For Rugby Union And Sees Ben Made A Tribal Chief, Hundreds Of Fijian Babies Given His Name And His 12 Players Heroes Forever Back Home PLEASE NOTE When You Purchase This Title, The Accompanying Reference Material Will Be Available In Your Library Section Along With The Audio After following Fiji s fortunes after Ben took over the coaching responsibilities, it was truly engaging to read about the inside story And what a story it is All the highs and lows of an amazing three years with a happy ending tinged with sadness In the professional era of modern sport this is the most refreshing of tales Bravo Mr Ryan.
I loved this book from start to finish I hadn t heard about the story before but heard ben talk at a conference and loved listening to him so much that I bought the book it s not disappointed me I don t really know anything about rugby but that didn t matter I could connect to his stories and honesty Really recommend this as just a great read now I need to save up to go to Fiji About so much than rugby A fascinating insight into Fiji, leadership, growth and discovery.
Knowing the Olympic end made some of the episodes tangible.
An absolute joy of a read Life, loves rugby in one hell of a rollercoaster ride Coaching with kindness is a great ethos to be encouraged, the Human spirit kindness shines throughout every page.

I found this to be a very interesting read Here is a small island with a multitude of naturally gifted athletes, the best of which have decided that rugby is the way out of poverty However, superstition and politics seem to play a big part in whether they succeed or fail Hats off to Ben Ryan for identifying the problem and managing it in an extremely successful way.
An incredible stoty told by a great coach and author filled with words of wisdom about rugby and life itself.
A must read for every rugby fan and highly recommendet for everyone else as well.
This is not just a book about rugby.
This is a book about underdogs, a book about a small nation taking on the rest of the world.
It s also a book about friendships, present and past, and those that have been lost.
You don t need to be a rugby fan to enjoy this but you might be when you ve finished it.
You will certainly want to visit Fiji, like I do.
You will end up having read the book feeling better, no matter how you felt when you started.
The biggest lesson I will take from this is that you are the standard you walk past.
This means that if you walk past someone being rude without doing anything then you are the rude person.
It s also a book about being nice when people are often not nice.
Being nice will pay benefits, as is illustrated so often by anecdotes related by Ben.
The story itself builds well and the tension is cleverly managed.
I remember watching the Flying Fijiians
